Current & Ongoing Events

THE COMMUNITY CENTER CORNER

Visitors to the East Liverpool Area Community & Learning Center frequently ask what is available for visitors to the Center.  “What activities go on at the Center that would be of interest to me?” is their question.  Maybe we can find their answer today in this article.

Several weeks ago a man and two teenage boys dribbling basketballs appeared at the front door.  When the Center Volunteer invited them in, the man asked where were the basketball courts.  One thing that the Center is not is a physical education facility.  Some people relate the term community center to physical activity because that is the focus of many other Centers…

This community is fortunate to have two fine YMCA locations, one in downtown East Liverpool and the other at Ogilvie Square in Calcutta.  Two physical exercise facilities are at least one more than most communities of our size.  There are baseball, basketball, exercise rooms, soccer and other facilities for physical exercise in the area.

Your Area Community Center is now only 9 months into its operations.  We would like to help you become aware of the weekly, monthly and periodic activities that are currently offered at the Center.  New activities are springing up almost every week now.  An asterisk (*) indicates the events offered only to group members, may require pre-registration or may involve a fee.
